Ziyarat in Madinah: The Sites Our Groups Visit

Al Hajun Team · Mar 01, 2026 · 1 min read

A brief introduction to the blessed sites of Madinah that our coordinators include in every group itinerary.

Madinah rewards the pilgrim who takes time to understand what surrounds them. Our Ziyarat programme is arranged around prayer times so that no visit competes with worship in the Prophet's Mosque.

The Prophet's Mosque itself is the centre of the stay. Our coordinators explain the etiquette of visiting, the layout of the mosque and the timings that allow the most rewarding experience.

Masjid Quba is the first mosque built in Islam, and there is great reward in praying two rakaat within it. Our groups visit early in the day when it is calmest.

The site of the Battle of Uhud, with the graves of the martyrs, gives most pilgrims pause. Standing at the foot of the mountain, the events of that day become far more real than any account of them.

Masjid al-Qiblatayn marks the change in the direction of prayer towards Makkah, a moment that reshaped the daily life of every Muslim who came after.

Our scholars accompany each visit, explaining the history and significance of the sites so that the day is one of learning as well as remembrance.
