Pilgrim Resources
Hajj is performed once a year during the days of Dhul Hijjah. This guide sets out the rites day by day and what our team arranges on your behalf.
The Rites

Enter the state of ihram and travel to Mina, where the day is spent in prayer, remembrance and rest in preparation for Arafah.
9 Dhul Hijjah
Stand on the plain of Arafah from midday until sunset in supplication. This standing is the essence of Hajj. After sunset, travel to Muzdalifah.
9 Dhul Hijjah
Pray Maghrib and Isha together, rest under the open sky and gather pebbles for the stoning of the Jamarat.
10 Dhul Hijjah
Stone the Jamrat al-Aqabah, offer the sacrifice, shave or shorten the hair, then perform Tawaf al-Ifadah and Sa'i.
11 to 13 Dhul Hijjah
Remain in Mina and stone the three Jamarat each day after midday, spending the nights in worship and remembrance.
Before Departure
