Umrah can be performed at any time of the year. This guide walks you through the rites, what to prepare and how our team supports you from booking to your safe return.
The Rites
Performing Umrah, Step by Step
- 01 Entering Ihram Perform ghusl, wear the garments of ihram and make the intention for Umrah at the appointed miqat. From this point the restrictions of ihram apply and the talbiyah is recited.
- 02 Tawaf of the Kaaba On reaching the Masjid al-Haram, circle the Kaaba seven times beginning and ending at the Black Stone, then pray two rakaat behind Maqam Ibrahim.
- 03 Sa'i Between Safa and Marwah Walk seven times between the hills of Safa and Marwah, recalling the search of Hajar for water for her son Ismail.
- 04 Halq or Taqsir Men shave or shorten the hair and women trim a fingertip length. With this the rites of Umrah are complete and the restrictions of ihram are lifted.
